James (Otis) Otey was interested in art for as long as he can remember. Born and raised in Southern California, he migrated to Southern Oregon in 1973. He met Paula Livingston in 1976 and they became friends immediately.

Paula is a native of Southern Washington State and grew up in the fields, forests and beaches of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She was always attracted to art, music and theatre.
In 1976 she moved to Ashland, Oregon to widen her horizons.

In 1993, they decided to join forces in Seattle to pursue their similar interests. They built their dream studio in 2001 and began to make art in a serious way. For all reasons, it has turned out to be a great idea.
